The exact VINELink display can vary by feed, but the record is usually a status indicator rather than a full release packet. Register Randolph Release Notifications
Notification registration is the main reason to use VINELink or VNS for a specific Randolph County person. It can notify a registrant when the covered person is released, transferred, or has another custody change. Available channels depend on the system and feed, but may include phone, email, text, in-app, or TTY options.

Alabama VNS has a local timing issue worth noting. The VNS site says the new website was released in March 2024 and that people registered in a prior version must register again. A person relying on an older alert should create a new registration in the current system.
Keep the confirmation details. A saved registration, PIN, or email confirmation can help later if an alert stops arriving or contact information must be changed. For a Randolph County case that moves from the detention center to ADOC, a new alert path may be needed because the responsible agency and feed have changed.
County Jail vs ADOC Alerts
Randolph County's current jail roster and Alabama VNS do not do the same job. The roster shows active local custody fields such as name, photo, age, sex, booking date, race, height, and weight. It does not publish a release-date column in the visible table and it is not a release archive. A person can leave the roster because of release, transfer, name variation, data lag, or another custody change.
ADOC's public inmate search is also limited. The ADOC inmate search says it contains only currently incarcerated inmates and that historical data is not available online. No Randolph VINELink Result
No result in VINELink does not prove that a person was never booked in Randolph County or that a release did not occur. Name spelling, feed coverage, agency participation, data lag, restricted records, and the difference between county jail custody and ADOC custody can all affect the result. A pending local case may be better confirmed through the sheriff, detention center, and court records than through VNS.
Use the fallback chain in order. Check the current Randolph County roster to rule in active local custody. Contact the detention center for a recent booking that disappeared from the roster. Check the Randolph County Circuit Clerk or Alacourt Access for bond, sentencing, dismissal, or revocation. If the case became a state prison sentence, use ADOC, VNS, and ABPP records. VINELink Limits in Randolph

For immigration detention, ICE's locator is the starting point, and Randolph County research did not identify a dedicated ICE detention center in the county.
VINELink also can lag behind the live agency record. A just-processed release, transfer, or court action may not appear at the same time across every system. For a recent Randolph County jail event, call the detention center administrative line or request the sheriff's booking and release entry. For a state prison release, use ADOC public records and ABPP records when a notification is not enough.
For exact paperwork, ask for the record by name. A sheriff release entry can identify the local release date, release type, and transfer agency if the county custody episode ended. Registries Are Separate
Alabama offender registries are not the same as VINELink or a release list.
